We started The Flavor of Oakland to share the birria we grew up loving, and after fifteen years of cooking, we finally put it on wheels four months ago. Everything we serve is made from scratch and prepared fresh once you order, so nothing sits waiting under a heat lamp. Our sauce is the heart of it, made from seven different peppers rather than the single pepper most kitchens rely on, giving each bite a deeper, layered flavor. We are proud that our recipe is naturally gluten-free, so more people can sit down and enjoy it with us.

Birria is where we shine, and our menu is built around it. We serve birria tacos dipped in rich consomé, quesabirria loaded with melted cheese, and hearty birria burritos for a bigger appetite. If you want something spoon-friendly, our birria bowls give you all the meat and broth without the wrap. We also griddle up birria grilled cheese for anyone who likes their comfort food turned up a notch, and we round things out with tacos al pastor and fresh shrimp tacos for guests who want a change of pace.

Because we run a food truck, you can find us at our spot on W Colonial Dr, pull up a seat, and dine right by the truck, or grab your order to go. We also travel for catering, bringing the same fresh cooking to birthdays, office lunches, and gatherings around the area.
